Due to new laws, individuals can give a portion of their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA's) tax-free to non-profits such as the Land Trust. The legislation was encated for 2008 and extended through 2009. Individuals age 70 1/2 and older can transfer up to $100,000 of IRA assets to public charities without triggering federal income taxes today or estate taxes in the future. Check with your tax advisor today to see how you can take advantage of the new laws.
